Increasing the Membership and an Update on Our Legal Action

Sept 15 2024
Aniin Members and Volunteers,
As spring approaches, the Executive Council wishes everyone a joyful and prosperous New Year. We want to send a Kitchi Miigwetch to Michael Swinwood as his dedication and generosity have been invaluable to us, and we remain deeply grateful for all he has done.
We also want to express our gratitude to everyone who has taken the initiative to complete their statutory declarations. Your efforts are critical as we move forward together.
With the adjournment of the constitutional question in Sudbury ending soon, things may begin to progress quickly. We hope this will mark the beginning of forming our Nation Council.

Each of our representatives collectively stand for a large body of people, many of whom are not yet aware of our existence. For relatives wishing to submit their application, all necessary information is available under the Heritage Preservation Project
We will resume statutory declarations in the coming months and meetings are held biweekly, starting Thursday, January 23rd, at 7:00 PM EST. We currently have 93 people who have completed their declarations, with many more waiting. We appreciate your patience in this process, it is not an easy journey, but rest assured, we are on the right path.
You can access the Zoom link for our meetings directly on our website under the Heritage Preservation Project section: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86725431617?pwd=fsaVf4tgMxubij3C1kcDxkoPrgeD9I.1
Kitchi Miigwetch,
